SideStore
Computer for setup. Refresh on iPhone with Wi-Fi and LocalDevVPN connected. Refresh SideStore itself as well as 4789 before expiry.
SideStore steps4789 for iPhone
One native iPhone library for the catalogs, lists, and files you choose—with hardware-accelerated playback, downloads, and television handoff built in.
Public beta 2 is available. Download the verified IPA from the official release and compare its SHA-256 before signing.
An unsigned IPA must be signed with your Apple Account inside the sideloading tool you choose. 4789 never receives that account. Free signing normally expires after seven days, so refresh the app before then. A downloaded IPA is an app file; opening it in Safari or Files does not install it.
Start here
If SideStore or AltStore Classic is already working, you can import the released IPA from Files. Otherwise, you need a Mac or Windows computer and a USB cable for the initial setup below. Save this page and open it on that computer. Sideloadly installs from the computer each time.
Have your iPhone passcode, Apple Account, and Wi-Fi ready. These steps become useful when the verified 4789 release is available.
Computer for setup. Refresh on iPhone with Wi-Fi and LocalDevVPN connected. Refresh SideStore itself as well as 4789 before expiry.
SideStore stepsComputer for setup and refreshes. Keep AltServer running and reachable over USB or the same Wi-Fi network when installing or refreshing.
AltStore Classic stepsInstall from Mac or Windows. Its background refresh tool also needs the computer running and the iPhone reachable over USB or configured Wi-Fi.
Sideloadly steps1. Prepare both devices. Follow the official prerequisites for your computer. Install iloader on it and LocalDevVPN on your iPhone. Windows also needs the Apple device software listed there.
2. Install SideStore. Connect by USB, unlock your iPhone, and accept Trust This Computer. In iloader, sign in, select your iPhone, then Install SideStore (Stable). Follow the official installation guide to trust the app and enable Developer Mode.
3. Finish on iPhone. Connect LocalDevVPN, open SideStore, and sign in with the same Apple Account. In My Apps, refresh SideStore first. Then import the released 4789 IPA. If pairing expires after an iOS update or reset, return to the official guide to repair it with your computer.
1. Install AltServer. On Mac, follow the official macOS guide. On Windows, follow the official Windows guide, including its Apple iTunes and iCloud prerequisites. Use AltStore Classic for this IPA.
2. Connect your iPhone. Unlock it, connect by USB, and accept Trust This Computer. Enable Wi-Fi sync in Finder on Mac or iTunes on Windows. From AltServer’s menu-bar or system-tray icon, choose Install AltStore and your iPhone, then sign in with your Apple Account.
3. Finish on iPhone. Trust your developer app and enable Developer Mode as described below. Open AltStore Classic and sign in. Keep AltServer reachable while importing 4789 and when using My Apps → Refresh All. See AltStore’s refresh guidance.
1. Prepare your computer. Download Sideloadly from its official site. On Windows, follow its iTunes and iCloud prerequisites. Download the verified 4789 IPA to the computer once released.
2. Sign and install. Connect your unlocked iPhone by USB and accept Trust This Computer. Open Sideloadly, select the iPhone, drag in the IPA, and enter your Apple Account. Start the install and complete any authentication prompts in the tool.
3. Open and maintain. Trust the developer app and enable Developer Mode below. Configure Sideloadly’s automatic refresh, or repeat the install before expiry. For wireless refresh, follow its Wi-Fi setup instructions and keep both devices on the same network.
Four visual steps
Swipe the cards. Each step has one job.
On a computer, calculate the downloaded file’s SHA-256 and compare every character with the checksum in the official release. Replace the example path with the location of your IPA.
Mac Terminal
shasum -a 256 "/path/to/4789.ipa"Windows PowerShell
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 -LiteralPath "C:\path\to\4789.ipa"A matching filename or size does not verify a file. If the checksum differs, download it again from the official release before signing.
Check the expiry date. Free signing normally lasts seven days. Confirm that refresh succeeded in your tool; do not rely on background refresh alone. If the app expired, refresh or sign it again with that tool. An expired app stops opening, but it stays on the device with its data; a successful refresh brings the same app back without losing your library.
Keep the same signing identity. Use the same Apple Account and app identifier for routine updates. Changing them can create a separate app or prevent an update. Do not delete the existing app to make room.
Export before removal. In the app, open Settings → Backup & downloads → Export settings, and save the file to Files or iCloud Drive. The settings export is plaintext and can contain live secrets and private URLs. Protect it like a password; it is not a complete backup of downloads and app data. See the backup guide.
4789 is distributed as a free, user-signed beta outside the App Store, so installing it uses Apple's normal developer-signing path instead of a store listing. You sign the app with your own Apple Account on your own device; 4789 never receives that account.
Safety rests on two habits: download the IPA only from the official release, and compare its SHA-256 checksum before signing. A build that matches the published checksum is byte-for-byte the released app.
Updates
A routine refresh or newer 4789 build should install over the existing public app with the same signing account and app identifier so local data remains in place. Do not delete the app just to update it. Export settings first whenever removal is unavoidable.
